The TKA Executive Committee of 2015 would like to thank each and every one for your support that has been rendered to us during the Yugadhi 2016 event as well as for the past year.

It is because of your support and encouragement we were able to create wonderful memories as well as celebrate our rich culture, tradition and language.

We also thank parents, children, adult performers, choreographers who sweat so much to bring the best of the best programs and we greatly appreciate their time, effort, talent and commitment.

We especially recognize and appreciate our cultural team, stage decoration team, audio engineers, ladies & men who volunteered food, our memory keeper and members who have always supported TKA and worked backstage to make our events successful.

A special shout out goes to Mr. Manju Bhat who has always been our memory keeper. His relentless work behind the camera is what enables us to look back at these memories and smile upon them forever.

Yugadhi celebrations again this year was a grand success.

TKA sincerely appreciates each and every one of you who were involved directly or indirectly in organizing this event.

Greensboro Triad Association

Dasara - Samoohika Gombe Habba

posted Oct 17, 2015, 11:09 AM by TKA Executive Committee

Dear TKA members,

We thank you for making our recently held picnic a great success!! It was indeed a joy to get out of our daily routine and enjoy some sun and fun with family and friends.

We are coming to you now with another opportunity to socialize, entertain and educate our children about our tradition and culture.

As all of you are aware, Dasara is Karnataka’s Naada Habba. Among other traditions and pujas, Gombe Habba is  very popular among the people of Karnataka.

In an effort to recreate this tradition,we are organizing a ‘samoohika Gombe Habba’. The idea here is to get together as a group, bring one small Gombe or an item for display from your house, partake in Lalitha sahasranama, Devisthothras, and finish it up with Arthi and Prasada.

As mentioned earlier, this would also be a very good opportunity to inform our youngsters about this unique and adorable culture of Karnataka.

Interested people can bring in Prasada of your choice if you so desire.

Venue: Vijaya Gowda's Residence
DateSunday October 18th, 2015
Time: Evening 5pm-8pm

Please call or email Vijaya Gowda, Kusuma Basappa with any questions or concerns.
(Contact information is in the email you received from "Triad Kannada" on 10/14/2015)

Thanks and Regards,

Walk to end Alzheimers

posted Aug 19, 2015, 6:56 PM by TKA Executive Committee

Saturday, September 19th

Alzheimer's disease is a disease that can damage one and their loved ones emotionally, financially, mentally, as well as physically. As of today, scientists and researchers are working tirelessly to find an antidote for this. With the budding technological advancements of modern day combined with the growing knowledge acquired through the many studies conducted, soon, there may be a cure to this deadly ailment.
Every year, the cost of caring for patients suffering sums up to be about $604 million globally, excluding the personal expenses families and friends pay for. This amount is far more than the measly $480 million that the government pays the scientists and researchers for Alzheimer's disease research.
Triad Kannada Association is reaching out to each and everyone to participate in this charitable event to help end Alzheimer's disease. Donations can be made online under the Triad Kannada Association team at: http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2015/General?team_id=291692&pg=team&fr_id=7631
With your donations, the world will be one step closer to finding a cure to Alzheimer's disease and saving millions of lives. So please consider donating generously! Also, kindly pass this message on to family and friends.
